Join a 6 months intensive program with studies, courses and actions to make the small island nation of St. Vincent Climate Compliant.
The effects of Climate Change are already affecting Small Island Nations and the poor will be the most vulnerable from the effects. With that in mind, the Climate Compliance Project started in 2012 and will run till 2021. A small group of teachers and volunteers from Richmond Vale Academy will together with a big group of Vincentians make our island and people ready for climate change. Through research, creation and implementation of projects in nearby villages, promotion, and by example, students will work to prepare the people of the Caribbean for the dangers of Global Warming.
We have cleaned up 30 ton of trash from rivers and beaches, planted 30,000 trees, set up 100 organic Home gardens, produced TV and Radio campaigns and taught thousands of people face to face.
Richmond Vale Academy is a model center and farm on the island. We grow and produce our own food organically, harvest rainwater and are running on solar.
Participants will experience community living, cooking, cleaning, harvesting food, garden farming, construction and other skills needed to be self-sufficient leaders who can do anything they put their mind to.
In the end, the program will train students to be environmental activists that are able to make a stand for the future of this world. There's no special requirements but you should be open-minded and be ready to work!
Programs start in May and November.
